A reader compliments Matt on the content of this blog and asks Matt his thoughts about blogging in general.
Matt responds:

Blogging is just another form of communication.
We all have a need to give and take.
That’s what I think a blog is: a bunch of people getting together, talking about things that are common to ourselves and to others, and then having an exchange of ideas over the worldwide web.
The thing I like about the conversations on this blog is the dedication to peace, tolerance, understanding, hope, and love.
The reality is that that touches every aspect of the human condition.
Therefore, even though we’re drumming one drum, it has many pitches, moods, and connotations. It doesn’t dictate how you should listen to it.
We’ve talked about drums on the Blog before. You can drum someone up to the scaffolds, or to become the king, there are drums of defeat and drums of victory, so it’s all the reality and the perception.
The blog is the drummer of whatever drum you march to. You make it your own, you add to its power. Sometimes we diminish ourselves by the realization of our flaws, but in that realization comes power, and actually, we become better for it.
I never knew I had only one leg till someone pointed it out to me! Or, I didn’t know I was smoking so much, as I opened my eighth pack in one day!
Or whatever other stupid thing I’d be doing.I don’t read blogs as a matter of course. I don’t read much of anything as a matter of course. I’m usually doing something else.
But I really enjoy the time I have on the blog, and whatever things you have to say, I think they’re relevant, because all of us are very important to this universe.
We should find our niche and expand it.
Thank you, all of you who participate on the blog.
And as Nike says, just do it!
Matt
