Matt Lamb's biography now on Kindle!

Dear bloggers,

Richard Speer here, your blog editor...

Here’s an exciting development in the Matt Lamb universe...

Matt’s biography is now available on Kindle!

Matt Lamb:  The Art of Success, written by yours truly and published by John Wiley & Sons, is now available as a download to the revolutionary reading device known as Kindle.

The Kindle is a kind of digital book produced by Amazon, and it presents Matt’s biography to a whole new audience of tech-savvy readers, for an affordable price of only $9.99.

Here’s a link to the book, where you can find both the traditional paper version and Kindle version of the book:

Let me take a moment to share with you some background about the book:

For an entire year, I followed Matt Lamb around the world as he painted, sculpted, led Umbrellas for Peace workshops, grand-mastered parades, and found himself the object of fascination and controversy, landing in the pages of The Wall Street Journal for his adamant stance that art—whether Outsider, insider, or any other category—should be responsive to the content of the artist’s creativity, not their socioeconomic status.

The book takes the reader on a journey to Matt’s studios in the sun-kissed Florida Keys, the verdant cliffs of Ireland, the South Side of Chicago, Paris, Germany, Argentina, and the bucolic Wisconsin countryside.  Another stop in this travelogue include the mysterious Rio Grande Gorge in Taos, New Mexico, where Matt felt the presence of the arcane spirits he believes populate his paintings.

I also interviewed Matt’s friends, enemies, family, mentors, business associates, the people who love his art, the people who hate his art, and the people whose lives have been touched by his generosity of spirit and passion for self-expression.

Also included is the most complete and intimate recounting on record of the harrowing brush with death that turned Matt from a funeral director and entrepreneur into one of the art world’s most polarizing and ultimately inspiring figures.

Spending a year chasing the shadow of Matt Lamb around the world was a great privilege that I’ll never forget, and which I was honored to document in Matt Lamb:  The Art of Success, which has become the cornerstone for all Matt Lamb scholarship in the future.

I’m thrilled that the book is now available on Kindle.  If you are fortunate enough to have this amazing new reading device, I encourage you to download the book and share your thoughts with us on the Blog by posting a comment.

Warm regards,
Richard Speer

Glad to hear the book is on Kindle. I don't have that particular gadget but if I ever get one that will be one of the first books I get. Congratulations for entering the 21st Century of publishing.
