A reader asks Matt whether he dressed up for Halloween.
Matt responds:

The only thing I do on Halloween is hide!
In years past I used to get dressed up and roam around, go to parties, and all of that.
We live in a big building now where no one tricks or treats, so I don’t have to answer the door.
In terms of the celebrations we have, everything we do now is centered around family, because we all live such action-packed lives. It’s great just to get together with our kids and their spouses and children, our grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and hear the stories of how they’re all doing in their lives.
It wouldn’t enhance it if we were all dressed up as clowns or had jack-o-lanterns on the table--although we may act like clowns many times!
So far I haven’t been unmasked as a curmudgeon!
