An important member of the Matt Lamb team

In response to recent photo posts showing Sheila Lamb Gabler interacting with Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and entrepreneur/philanthropist Stedman Graham, a reader remarks that Sheila is keeping quite busy as an ambassador for Matt’s many artistic and humanitarian outreaches.

Matt responds:

Sheila is an unusual person.  She’s very goal-oriented but extremely flexible.  She works 7 days a week and doesn’t know a time clock.

Because her management is a worldwide program, she’s in contact with people in diverse time zones.  She’ll be talking to somebody at midnight where it’s 6 in the morning and vice versa.

Her ability to walk calmly into a chaotic emerging situation, take command, listen to many different and opposite solutions, come out with a plan for action, and have everybody buy into it and follow her leadership, is a rare and sought-after quantity in every part of the business world.

We worked together when I was president of the Equestrian Order, and she did miracles in terms of worldwide programs dealing with every aspect of the human condition.

She dealt with heads of state and cardinals, as well as people who were down and out.  Money, status, and power didn’t make a bit of difference.  She gave everyone the same attention.  She looks on everyone as a human, not as a problem.  She sees people as a helper or someone to be helped.

Rose and I are blessed with four incredible children who each possess extraordinary skills.  I am very, very proud of each and every one of them for their endeavors through the years and today.

It’s great to have Sheila working with me on my many programs.  I’ve had occasion to tell her that as far as I’m concerned, there aren’t many people in the world who could do the difficult, challenging, but rewarding things that she’s doing.

Matt
P.S., I hope after reading this, she doesn’t want a raise or a new title!
