A reader asks Matt which two people from history he would most like to have dinner with, if it were possible to bring them back to life.
Matt responds:
The first one would be Mahatma Gandhi.
The second one: There are so many people I would have to choose from: Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King Jr., Moses, Frankin Delano Roosevelt, John Paul II, the list goes on... I would also like to meet some of my ancestors to see if they were as crazy as I am.
It’s a mind-bending question, which forces us to categorize what we truly think is important. We could go into the great inventors, the great healers: Louis Pasteur, Marie Curie, Warren Tay and Bernard Sachs. We would then go on to the great writers. And then the great painters. What a lunch it would be to have Michelangelo, Raphael, Picasso, Miro, and Chagall all sitting around, talking about art!
I hope that this is what eternity is going to be, where we carry all of this with us. Whatever we have made of our life, we take it to the next level. We’re waiting for all our heroes to spend eternity with, sitting at a big table, discussing, debating, commenting on the unanswerable questions of this plane, which might actually be answerable on the next plane. That would be my dream of Paradise.
What a good question. It really gets our imagination and priorities churning! Bravo!
